[DL610] Reflection and Presentation

Session 10: “Reflection and Presentation”

Architect:
Syed Shayaan Haider - Markhor3D

Session Overview

In this final session for Grade 6, students will share their projects and reflect on their design journey. They will present their models to the class, explain their design process, discuss challenges they faced, and share what they learned along the way. The session also includes a discussion on ideas for future projects and ways to further improve their skills. This reflective practice helps solidify learning and encourages continuous improvement.

Learning Objectives

By the end of the session, students will be able to:

  • Present Their Work: Clearly explain the process behind their design and the challenges they encountered.
  • Reflect on Learning: Analyze what worked well and what could be improved in their projects.
  • Share Ideas for Future Projects: Discuss new ideas and strategies for further improving their 3D modeling and printing skills.
  • Engage in Constructive Feedback: Listen to peers and provide thoughtful feedback to help each other grow.

Structure and Lesson Plan (Total Time: 60 minutes)

1. Introduction (10 minutes)

  • Welcome:
    • “Good morning, everyone! Today is our final session where you will present your projects and reflect on your design journey.”
  • Session Overview:
    • “You’ll share how you designed your models, what challenges you faced, and what you learned. We will also discuss ideas for future projects.”
  • Set the Stage:
    • “Remember, this is a chance to celebrate your hard work and learn from each other’s experiences.”

2. Student Presentations (30 minutes)

  • Presentation Guidelines:
    • “Each group or individual will have about 3-5 minutes to present their project.”
    • “Explain your design process, the challenges you faced, and the improvements you made.”
    • “Discuss what you learned about 3D modeling, printing, and how precise design makes a difference.”
  • Live Presentations:
    • Facilitate a series of presentations, ensuring each student gets a chance to speak.
  • Visual Support:
    • Encourage students to use digital slides or display their models on the projector.

3. Group Discussion and Peer Feedback (15 minutes)

  • Facilitate Discussion:
    • “Let’s discuss what we learned from these projects. What challenges did you overcome? Which design strategies worked best?”
  • Encourage Constructive Feedback:
    • “Offer one positive comment and one suggestion for improvement for each presentation.”
  • Record Ideas:
    • Ask students to write down any new ideas or techniques they want to try in future projects.

4. Reflection and Closing (5 minutes)

  • Individual Reflection:
    • “Take a few minutes to think about your design journey. What was the most important thing you learned? How will you use this experience in your next project?”
  • Sharing Reflections:
    • Invite a few volunteers to share their thoughts with the class.
  • Closing Encouragement:
    • “Great job, everyone! Your creativity, hard work, and willingness to learn have made this journey a success. Keep exploring, keep designing, and continue to improve with every project.”

Glossary
